USRAH BUDI
SEMESTER 2 2020/2021
Appreciation Towards Nature And Environment Poster And Few Pictures

The beauties of nature are the greatest gifts of God to man. How unlucky are they who cannot enjoy and appreciate nature. Nature is all around us in varied aspects and shapes. We have the green charming hills, ten snow-capped mountains, and the rising and setting sun in its varied and unforgettable glory. The silvery moon and the twinkling stars in the sky. The trees and fruits. The roaring waves in the vast ocean and the lakes. All of this flora and fauna is called nature.
There are many examples of activities that can be done to appreciate the environment one of them is World Environment Day (WED). This campaign is celebrated on 5 June every year for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. Each year, WED has provided a new theme. On the other hand, the government is also encouraged to apply vertical forest or eco-precinct in development This method can prevent from air pollution because this vertical forest adding oxygen and humidity to the surrounding environment which you can see in the picture above.
Everyone must practice planting the trees especially in their home. As we know, trees help to combat global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide, and releasing oxygen into the air so it can improve air quality to man. Our mental health also benefits from trees. We can reduced our stress and depression levels when surrounded by nature. The 3R reduce reuse recyle also plays an important role in sustainable nature, so as a human instead of throwing we should try to recycle our item.
The importance of appreciating nature is very important to our health - good air. In addition, the habitat of flora and fauna is maintained - shelter for animals. Finally nature can attract tourists to come to our country - the economy is growing.
Surah Ar Ruum 41
Mischief has appeared on land and sea because of (the meed) that the hands of men have earned, that ((Allah)) may give them a taste of some of their deeds: in order that they may turn back (from Evil)
From that verse we can prove that it is man who destroys and abuses nature. In fact nature are BELONG TO ALL LIVING THINGS, NOT ONLY HUMAN BEINGS. Meaning that - as a human which is the best creation in this world, we must take a very good care of nature.
Nature teaches man the lesson of peace, innocence, purity, love, harmony, simplicity, hope and faith in the glory of God. Attitude toward nature and attitude toward environmental protection are very important because this not only give benefit to us, but to society, to country, to flora and fauna and the future generation.
Conclusion
It is possible to protect the environment by encouraging appreciation of nature, but change in attitude toward nature and attitude toward environmental protection may be difficult to achieve with mature individuals.

What I Learned?

Just like others usrah, we also share and exchange opinions with each other, get to know new friends and share problems, for me this usrah gives students the opportunity to socialize, it is same as the concept of girltalk. This year I have learned many things from usrah including the title of solat, ramadhan, hajj, sadaqah and more. However, the main point that I learned and most impactful towards my life is :
1. Benefits of sadaqah is the title that interests me the most to listen to. Although this topic has been discussed thousands of times but I was most impressed with the presentation from this usrah. Since ramadhan I am determined to give a lot of sadaqah to people. My resolve was strengthened when sister Shakirah, shared a video from various ustaz ragarding rewards of sadaqah.
2. I got a lot of tips on how to stay focused in solat. These tips are very useful to me to improve the quality of my prayers. As we already know solat is very important because it determines the direction of each of our actions, so it is very important to maintain the quality of our prayers.
3. I have learned the Dua for Laylatul Qadr and its advantages. After studying this topic I managed to prepare physically and mentally to achieve that night. I admit it is very difficult but I can face it through all the tips that have been shared by my friends.
Lastly, I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this usrah once a week. However, this usrah is very meaningful because it helps students to calm their minds through chatting with friends.
Ramadhan Experience

This year, Ramadhan is present from 13 April to 13 May 2021. It is one of the holiest month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Ramadhan is a time of holy devotion for Muslims, most notably through fasting. It is one of the five pillars of Islam, the obligations of every Muslim according to their faith. From the time the sun creeps into the day through to the last ray of light, nothing should pass our lips. No food, no water, no cigarettes. Nothing. This is a time to me make a sacrifice and a time to contemplate my existence in the world and how I might be able to make that existence more meaningful for community, family, and the world.
With COVID-19 pandemic still ongoing, Ramadhan 2021 is very different experience for me and my family. Whilst restrictions will be more relaxed compared to 2020, many of the usual practices normally observed such as going to the restaurant for iftar and visiting friends and family indoors will sadly still not be possible this year, but some activities allowed in the mosque such as Taraweeh. For many of us we will still largely be observing Ramadhan from home. Therefore, it is very important to carefully plan my Ramadhan activities from home to ensure me and my families gain maximum benefit from the month. My family plan consider as :
Online – Stream Islamic sermons, taraweeh or other services to my home, either pre-recorded or live.
Prayers – Organise prayers including taraweeh at home as a family and pray as a congregation in the home. Reciting Al-Quran together.
Plan food – Plan my iftar menus in advance so that we can limit multiple shopping trips to minimise our need to leave home and help minimise the spread of the virus.
Breaks – Take regular breaks to reflect and take time for yourself such us performing tahajud, reading Al-Quran.

Aside from fasting, Ramadhan also increase in spiritual devotional acts such as prayer, giving charity, reciting Al-Quran and strengthening family ties. Ramadhan is also a month of giving, be that financially to charity or physically in service to others. Giving charity does not diminish our wealth, rather it multiples it. The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said in a hadith, “Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.” (Muslim)

One thing that I practice for this ramadhan is sadaqah. I try to keep giving atleast one ringgit every day and will pass it to my father to be donated in the mosque. In addition, every time after breaking the fast I will pray in congregation and tadarus Al-Quran with the family. We are determined to finish the Qur'an together before Eid. For me, this experience cannot be bought because it only happens in ramadhan only, right after ramadhan, everyone will busy with their own affairs. Next, I also help my mother sell kuih-muih at the bazaar such as tepung pelita and lompang. It was a meaningful experience as I was able to help my mother despite being busy with online classes.

Ramadhan month for this year is absolutely different experience from previous years due to the implementation of the MCO. We might be physically apart from each other in order to stay safe, but that won’t stop us from connecting together emotionally and spiritually Insha’Allah (God willing)!
My Raya Journey

Raya for us is hometown, my grandmother’s house. Every year, without fail we will return to our hometown, Kedah. However, this year we can not make it happen. As usual the last meal to break fast is usually a lively affair. After dinner, we installed pelita in the backyard then I played fireworks with the siblings. We are very happy.

At night , I help my mother cook in the kitchen. We cook many types of food including rendang, ketupat and nasi impit. Ater the work and cooking are done, we just hang out while arranging kuih raya in a jar. The best of us will start ironing their Raya clothes. Throughout the night, you can hear fireworks, it is like a friendly competition, whoever’s is brighter and louder, wins.

Next morning, the day usually starts early because we will have congregational raya prayers at home. Raya this year was a little disappointed as we could not go to the mosque to listen to the sermon and perform the raya prayers. After finished performing the raya prayers, we apologize to our family members. It is a common thing when we cry in the morning but it won’t be long because we will come back smiling after getting the duit raya from our parents.

After that, we will get ready beautifully wearing a raya outfit for the photo session. I still remember that we struggled to find the right angle to produce a beautiful picture. Alhamdulillah! we did it beautifully. Lastly, for me although this year's raya is not as usual but I am still thankful because I am still given the opportunity to celebrate with my loved ones. Thank you Allah❤️
